Rugged Northern Exposure

Eshaness, a designated geopark, boasts striking red granite cliffs. Look out to The Drongs and Dore Holm, see natural stone arches and sea stacks formed by a volcano and glacier. Some of Britain's oldest rock shapes this area, where the seascape is breath-taking in any weather.

4 hour tour

This tour takes you to the north of Shetland and passes through Mavis Grind, where the North Sea almost meets the Atlantic, then a fascinating visit to the Tangwick Haa Museum where you can learn about the area's local history in fishing and crofting. Enjoy a 300m cliff top walk at Eshaness and photograph the spectacular scenery, listen to the Atlantic Ocean, and witness the beauty of how the sea has shaped this rugged land, before a visit to the lighthouse. Refreshments can be arranged in the Braewick café, and enjoyed while viewing the amazing seascape and cliffs which were featured in the very popular 'Shetland' series. Various birds and sealife can be seen along the route as well as plenty of the famous Shetland sheep - whose wool is used in traditional Shetland knitting.
