You will be seeing a panorama of the town of Lerwick, Shetland’s capital and most northerly town of the British Isles. Developing from the 1600’s on the rise of the fishing industry where it eventually took over from the ancient capital Scalloway. Witness the town hall, sea front, Clickimin Broch (2,000 years old) and surrounding building of Lerwick.
Visit Scalloway the ancient capital and its ancient castle which was build around 1600 by Earl Patrick Stewart. Entry to the Scalloway museum which displays on ancient Shetland and the Shetland bus which was a WW2 resistance movement with Norway.
View the beauty of the Tingwall valley, learn of our Norse heritage and observe our largest tree plantation at Kergord. The Shetland jewellery workshop is a stop where hand crafted items with Celtic and Norse themes showing strongly and you will see the production process and have a chance to purchase items in the shop.
