Aviemore (& more) Itinerary
Thurs 12th Dec - Northlink ferry from Lerwick to Aberdeen (overnight cabin and breakfast included)
Friday 13th Dec - A scenic trip through the Dee Valley with a stop in the Victorian village of Ballater. Continuing through Cairngorms National Park before arriving in Aviemore during the early afternoon. Leisure time to purchase lunch or enjoy the local shops; before an entertaining and enjoyable beer tasting at the Cairngorm Brewery (included). Onwards to the Carrbridge Hotel for 3 nights half-board accommodation (included).
Sat 14th Dec - Take in the beautiful scenery along the western shore of Loch Ness with an organised visit to Urquhart Castle (admission included) and time to wander around the picturesque location. Onwards to Inverness and enjoy lunch in one of the city's many restaurants, then there is plenty of time for Christmas shopping in the Eastgate Centre & Victorian Market. With all your purchases safely stored, the coach will head back to the Hotel in time for dinner.
Sun 15th Dec - The day starts with a morning visit to the Highland Wildlife Park (admission included) which is home to many species including polar bears, tigers and reindeer. In the afternoon have cameras ready as we take a leisurely drive through breath-taking countryside to the Cairngorm Mountains, pausing at scenic points including beautiful Loch Morlich. On the return journey we will visit the Spey Valley Shopping Centre in Aviemore.
Mon 16th Dec - A mid-morning departure takes us back to Aberdeen where there will be time for some last-minute shopping and enjoying the Xmas atmosphere in the city before boarding Northlink for the trip home (overnight cabin and breakfast included)
Tues 17th Dec - Arrive back in Lerwick
